Beautiful species of Helichrysum, perennial and evergreen, with rapid growth and cushion-like habit, thick and rounded, native to the eastern Mediterranean basin: in full development it grows up to 40 cm and more or less large. Semi-woody and well branched at the base, it has several downy, rigid and thin stems, which have a decided erect course and a varied orientation. These tend to give the plant a regular, globular or hemispherical, compact shape; the leaves, thin and alternate, lanceolate in shape, with smooth margins and acute apex, sessile and tomentose, are of an intriguing silvery gray color. Between late spring and early summer, numerous slender stems raise on the plant, crowned by large hemispherical inflorescences, composed of small flowers with a papyrus consistency and a golden yellow color. A coveted prize for bees and insects in general: since they retain their color even after flowering and drying, the plant is commonly known as "immortal" or "everlasting". The seeds are minute, long and black.
