Small thick and compact evergreen cushion-bush with a quick growth and which can easily reach a maximum height of 40 cm. It native to the Mediterranean countries. Branched from the base, it is formed by numerous thin and herbaceous stems completely covered with persistent and opposite, linear and lance-shaped leaves, which are of a grey-green color and very fragrant. From spring to the early summer, the plant fills of an uncommon but beautiful blooming, made of short herbaceous stems. Then, these culminate in thick inflorescences of fragrant blue flowers surmounted by a wreath of showy colorful bracts.
