Fabulous and elegant shrub, related to citrus fruits, perennial and evergreen, with medium growth and compact and rounded habit, of Asian origins: after a few years of cultivation it can exceed a height of 2 m and as many in width. Branched and well lignified from the base, it has branches that are initially erect but at the end tend to bend softly outwards, giving the plant an expanded but regular, thick and globular appearance. On the stems, with a young greenish bark which then becomes silvery, glossy and leathery leaves are alternately applied, not-paripinnate with 5-7 ovate leaflets, of a beautiful dark green. Throughout the summer, in a discontinuous manner and in waves, it is covered in the apical parts of the branches with abundant inflorescences composed of minute white flowers, star-shaped with 5 petals, intensely perfumed and irresistible call for insects of various kinds: they follow in autumn, and persist throughout the winter, small ovoid orange-red fruits, truly ornamental and sought after by birds.
