Elegant grass commonly known as "Golden Bamboo", perennial and evergreen, with medium growth, bushy and dense posture, highly invasive and native to China: after the first years of adaptation and cultivation it can even exceed 5 m height and to colonize several square meters of land. Equipped with a robust rhizome with which it quickly pushes in every direction, it has numerous stems called "culms" or commonly "canes" erect, vertical, hollow, with a maximum diameter of 5 cm, with an initial green color which then tends to turn towards a warm golden yellow, from which the name of the species derives: these represent the part of the plant most exploited by man. At the level of the nodes it may have short woody branches with a horizontal course from which thin and glabrous, narrow and linear leaves emerge, with smooth margins and acute apex of light green color. Observing its flowering is very difficult, because it is rare and still occurs after very long periods.
