Beautiful exponent of the genus Phlomis, a perennial and evergreen shrub, with a rather fast growth and a thick, regular and roundish habit, native to the eastern Mediterranean basin: at its maximum development, it can reach a height of 80 cm and expand in width almost in the same measure. Lignified and well branched from the base, it has numerous erect semi-woody stems which, reaching up, branching repeatedly and orienting themselves in every direction, give the plant a compact, globular and orderly shape. The leaves, opposite and tomentose, oblong-lanceolate with smooth margins and acute apex, are gray-green in color with characteristic golden reflections which are accentuated in the dry season. In spring, abundant circular inflorescences appear in the apical portions of the branches of the year formed by tubular flowers of a golden yellow color.
