An attractive evergreen climber of extraordinary vigour and rapid growth; native to Australia, it can easily reach 5 to 6 metres in height and as much in width. The stems, which rise from the base, are slender and much branched, woody at the bottom while herbaceous and bright green towards the top. The leaves are imparipinnate, made up of small lance-shaped leaflets of a dark green colour. From late spring until the beginning of autumn it produces, at the tips of the stems, clusters of numerous bell-shaped flowers of a pale pink colour with a purple throat. There are also a "rosea" variety, with mottled pink flowers and a fuchsia throat, and a "variegata" variety, with cream-variegated foliage and pale pink flowers with a purple throat.
