Fabulous variety of Imperata Cylindrica, perennial and deciduous herbaceous, with a thick and bushy habit, rapidly growing, it is native to Asia: even when fully developed it never grows more than 60 cm tall, while, if it does not find obstacles in its path, it tends, exploiting its underground stems, to extend in width without limits. It looks like a dense tuft of erect, thin, narrow and ribbon-like leaves, of a beautiful bright green that tends to be tinged with red at the top, especially between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn: this characteristic, besides earning it the popular name of "bleeding grass", undoubtedly increases its ornamental value. From late summer, but rarely in our latitudes, cylindrical silver-white inflorescences sprout beyond the foliage.
