Elegant variety of Ligustrum texanum, from which it has inherited many characteristics: vigorous shrub, perennial and evergreen, fast-growing, with an expanded habit and North American origins. When fully developed it reaches 2 m in height and a little less in width. Branched and lignified already from the base, it has erect stems which, however, tend to open outwards at the top, making it take on an airy appearance: on these, leathery and lanceolate leaves are applied in an opposite way, with a slightly wavy margin and acute apex, of color dark green edged irregularly with white. Between the end of spring and the beginning of summer, in the most extreme parts of the branches, abundant lasse inflorescences are formed composed of minute white flowers, pleasantly scented and greedy attraction for many insects: they follow in autumn, and remain throughout the winter, pendulous clusters of blackish ovoid berries, precious food for various birds.
