Elegant and rustic herbaceous, perennial and evergreen, with rather fast growth and a thick and bushy habit, native to the Australian continent: at the maximum of its development it can exceed 80 cm in height, while its width is indefinable because, by virtue of its rhizomatous nature, it can travel great distances and easily colonize all the available space. It looks like a dense and harmonious tuft of leaves arranged radially, rigid and erect at the bottom, but flexible and delicately arched outwards at the top, so that the whole plant assumes a roughly regular and rounded shape. Every single leaf, similar to a feather, is composed of numerous small leaflets, arranged alternately on a brownish stem, lanceolate with slightly crenate margins and obtuse apex, thin, glabrous and of a light green color. It does not produce flowers and therefore fruits and seeds of any kind, since its reproduction occurs when the spores ripen.
