Robust hybrid of Photinia x fraseri, perennial and evergreen, with rapid growth and compact shrub habit: after a few years of cultivation it can reach more than 2.50 m in height and a little less in width, thus presenting itself in smaller dimensions than the another famous hybrid of Photinia x fraseri, the "Red Robin". Lignified and well branched from the base, it has stems with reddish juvenile bark and brownish mature bark, erect, upright, vertical but sometimes open towards the outside giving the plant an open appearance. On the branches there are alternately and dense, i.e. with very close internodes, abundant ovate-lanceolate, leathery and glabrous leaves, with a finely serrated edge and acute apex, bright red at birth and bright dark green at maturity: to be emphasized it is their return to bright reddish colors in the autumn-winter period. In the middle of spring, generous hemispherical inflorescences appear formed by minute but fragrant 5-petalled flowers, followed in autumn, but persisting throughout the winter, with ornamental red spherical fruits.
