Generous perennial and evergreen climbing plant; native to South America, it has a very fast growth rate and can, in a short time, reach about 4-5 m height and about 2-3 meter width. The stems, thin, flexible and semi-woody, have small, oval, lanceolate, shiny and dark green leaves. From April and until the first cold weather, the spectacular flowering of these plants can be observed: the flowers, gathered in hemispherical bunches, have the shape of small blue stars with a yellow area in the center corresponding to the pollen sacs. Abundant and well contrasting on the exuberant green foliage, they can remind of jasmine even if, unlike these, they are fragrance free.
