Festive large perennial shrub, deciduous and rapidly growing, with a thick and irregular habit, belonging to the BIGNONIACEAE family and native to subtropical regions south of Bolivia and north of Argentina: it can grow even more than 3m tall, when fully developed, and almost identical in width. Lignified and branched from the base, it produces woody stems with initial erect growth which, however, then arch at the top: the result is a consequently soft and expanded appearance of the plant. The leaves are opposite and neat, beautiful light green. From late spring and then, throughout summer, large inflorescences grow in the apical part of the branches. These are made up of orange-red flowers, with the classic trumpet shape, followed in autumn by rich hemispherical capsules.
