Popular plant, evergreen perennial, with a typical thick and compact habit. Elegant cultivar of the best known Viburnum Tinus which is a typical essence of the Mediterranean scrub, it has a rather rapid growth and can easily grow 3 or more meter tall and about 2 meter large. Richly branched from the base, it has woody stems and brown bark at the bottom, herbaceous branches that turn red at the top. The dark green leaves, opposite and leathery, are oval or elliptical, with an entire margin. Between winter and early spring, you can witness the rich flowering of this plant: preceded by dense pink buds, the flowers are slightly fragrant and they are visited by numerous pollinating insects, they are white, star-shaped and gathered in dense round inflorescences and flattened at the ends of the main branches. In autumn they are followed by gorgeous blue-blackish berries with metallic reflections, excellent bird food in the winter months.
