Interesting evergreen bushy plant, formed by large rounded, leathery leaves, with reddish shades in winter. Pink flowers, gathered in inflorescences, bloom in winter. It is a very rustic plant, which grows well in sunny positions as well as in shady ones, but always requiring fresh and moist soil for optimal growth. Good resistance to cold. The characteristic tuft habit makes it an ideal ground cover for flat or sloping grounds, even at the base of large trees.
