It prefers a sunny and bright position or just a light shade and, although adapting to soils of any nature, it prefers fertile, humid and well-drained ones. It does not like periods of drought, especially if intense and long-lasting, and instead takes advantage of constant periodic summer watering. In coastal areas it is better to choose a sheltered position, as it cannot bear the excessive saltiness typical of sea winds. In winter it tolerates temperatures only a few degrees below zero, therefore in regions with intense and protracted cold it is a good idea to choose a protected location or even better to ensure a shelter in a bright and cool environment. At the vegetative restart in spring we can remove dry, damaged and bulky parts and at the same time shorten all the branches to stimulate regular and compact growth and increase the already generous flowering. Its cultivation on terraces and balconies is ideal, even in modest sized pots and containers prepared with fertile soil; in the open ground in the garden it can, alone or accompanied by perennial herbaceous plants or other small bushes, decorate entire large flower beds: the realization is also perfect, arranging several examples in sequence, of low borders with an undoubted exotic decorative value.
