Very original species of Cotoneaster, rustic shrub, perennial, of medium growth and Chinese origins: at maximum growth it can slightly exceed one meter in height, while, given its basically horizontal development, the width can be greater. Well lignified and branched from the base, it has numerous thin stems, first erect and then spread out in every direction, radially: these branches divide further and characteristically "fishbone" and are thickly covered with tiny elliptical leaflets of dark green color . In late spring, flowering is abundant and small pink-white 5-petaled flowers decorate the plant and attract all kinds of insects. From autumn then, and throughout the winter, tiny spherical red-orange fruits ripen on the stems that help birds and animals of all kinds with their pulp in this sad time of year.
