Charming and rustic herbaceous, perennial and semi-deciduous in Mediterranean climates (in the colder ones it can die completely in winter, but it grows again in spring from the collar), with rather fast growth and ground cover habit, native to Asia Minor. At its full development, it rises slightly above the ground approximately 10-15 cm tall and it can extend a little more in width. It looks like a rich tuft of truly ornamental leaves, with a lanceolate shape, smooth edges and acute apex. They are thick and tomentose because of a dense down, which, in addition to giving it a truly unique silvery white color, makes them particularly pleasant to the touch and similar to "ears of lamb", hence the popular name with which the plant is often remembered. In late spring, numerous greyish herbaceous stems rise up on the thick carpet of the foliage, culminating in spike inflorescences composed of tiny pink flowers, particularly appreciated by bees, butterflies and insects in general.
