MUHLENBERGIA capillaris

Superb perennial grass of North American origin, with thin grey-green leaves similar to hair (hence the name of the species) and a superb, abundant, magical late summer and autumn flowering, giving the plant the appearance of a soft coral pink cloud.

It prefers rich and well drained soils and sunny or semi-shaded positions. In order to produce a better result, it's possible to make a strong pruning between the end of autumn and the begining of spring, according to the cultivation climate zone. It is perfect in pot or container, it produce better results in the garden as single specimen, in thick soft scrubs or together with other perennial grasses to realize elegant mixed borders.
